Someone should send them an email.  While that works, and for a collection of
chess games it should be good enough, pure alpha beta will come to exactly the
same answer and a lot faster.  Besides which, the complexity of alpha beta is
the same as the complexity of mini max (IOW, it is not apprecialbly easier to
code and debug a mini max search compared to an alpha beta search).
