I have been asked several times... "Where am I going with this long Thread".. As Posted on ICC & CTF I hoped to be going to the Bridge that connects the Gap between Players & Programmers. A gap that has existed too long. "Gens Una Sumus" We are friends.. and certainly have much in common, our love for the game. The Spirit of each Forum is to help one another. I know that some on CTF have thought ICC was a rather hostile, & intolerant, environment for ‘players'. I certainly have experienced this in the past. Much of the misunderstandings, not only for myself, but others has been semantics. I think we have made some progress. For any discussion about Chess or Programming to be productive we have to be thinking alike. Starting with the fundamentals and what they mean to players & programmers. Some programmers do not have Chessbase or Top Commercial Programs such as Fritz & Shredder, so they are not aware of the capabilities of these tools. I present a Quote from Dann Corbit. "If we are to reach a conclusion about a collection of information, if we do not have the same definitions for the terms then our conclusions will be meaningless." I congratulate the new MODS for their patience & understanding. I appreciate all responses on the Thread. I believe it was productive. Some perspectives were given on each side, and as such I think we have gained in knowledge about the game, and about each other. Tolerance, Patience, Love Trust & Understanding are the Keys.. to unlocking the secrets of the heart. The next significant advance in AI, Programming, or Chess Theory will come from a collective effort of players & programmers. Let us try.. In good faith & good will to make that happen. Best Wishes to all, Chan
