In my opinion, the strongest CM10th setting is not quite up the same standard as the top four or five engines and will not better them over a long series of games. In the CEGT rating list, you'll see that at 40 moves in 40 minutes repeating, the strongest settings aren't a huge improvement over the default settings. However I'll guarantee you that as you lengthen the time control, the strongest settings perform increasingly better than the default settings. Keep an eye on CM10th Pestilence in the CEGT rating list. That's my best advice for those looking for a benchmark, Regards, Graham.
