You may recall a couple of weeks ago I said I would pit my Palm Hiarcs 9.46 on a Palm Zire 21 (126MHz) v Fruit 2.1 on a (relatively) slow P166 laptop. It was a 10 game match played at game in 60. Fruit had 4MB hash (its lowest setting) and Hiarcs had 512KB hash (my Palms max setting!). There were no draws in the match. Fruit crushed Palm Hiarcs 8-2! It is only fair to point out that even on this slow hardware Fruit was looking around 4 ply deeper the Hiarcs. Game 10 was the only game, which looked like a draw. With Fruit showing +3.0 Hiarcs had locked the position and both were shuffling pieces about. As the 50-move rule approached Fruit swapped a pawn and sacrificed its knight. It then went on to win! If anybody is interested in having the games just E-mail me and I will send them to you in CBV format. Clive
