more than 32 pieces are illegal positions and I do not claim that this rule is
always correct but only that there is no reason to think that 7 will be the
first exception.

The first exception may be 7 pieces,8 pieces,9 pieces,10 pieces,11 pieces,12
pieces,13 pieces,...

If we assume that the probability for all of these events is the same then it is
clear that the probability that the first exception happens with 7 or 8 pieces
is less than 50% so we can expect the rule to hold.

Not all the 7 piece tablebases were investigated so we do not know that there
are no position with MaxDTC>=243*2

My guess is that MaxDTC>=243*2 and MaxDTZ>=243*2 but we will probably need to
wait at least few years to see who is right.
