Hello Stuart,

Three months reading no computer chess, that is very good! I would find it
difficult to do, like not watching any TV for three months, or no radio.

Fritz 9 from Frans Morsch is doing pretty good in some German tournaments, here
is a list from German CSS forum, from Karl Rosenheim,
http://f23.parsimony.net/forum50826/messages/135072.htm
Fritz 9 comes in at over 2800! That may be at bit much, Fruit 2.2 is not in the
list and Fruit 2.2 is a difficult opponent it seems for Fritz 9. So that will be
interesting to see how that develops if they test Fruit also. For Fruit
(http://www.fruitchess.com/) there may be some small updates in the near future,
for Fritz I don't think they will do much of that unless they find real bugs.
The Deep version of Fritz is not due for some months yet. I think that has to do
with marketing reasons. If you want to read about new features and are
interested in bells and whistles like animated Turks:

I'm also interested if Hiarcs 10 is coming soon, I read here it's due somewhere
in November http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?456349. Even if it
would not be as strong as Fruit or Fritz, I have heard much good about it.
