There are mate in 267,272,292 (illegal position) chess problems.

And I remember one problem with long series of queen_checks/pawn_moves,
maybe > 400 moves (I can't find it now).

Not 243 * 3, but 243 * 2. It's only my opinion, but probably I'm mistaken.
