That since CB hadn't posted many beta results it therefore meant the engine hadn't improved. Others that since CB were concentrating on playing humans their eng v eng play would suffer as a result. Similar comments I think prior to Fritz 8. Yet what we probably have is the biggest jump in a Fritz version for a longtime. Clearly more than most expected. I would think if any engine author is smart they would have had a very good look at the source code of Fruit and seen what ideas that maybe generated in themselves. I think Uri was maybe more blunt than others on that specific subject. Sarah.
