It was a calculated risk, Norm I created a new folder, copied GUI.up and IUPgrade.exe there, run the .exe and looked what files were unpacked. The files seemed pretty "harmless", but.. had anything gone wrong: a) I knew what files had been replaced b) I have 2 operating systems installed with both Fritz 9 (GUI 9) c) I would have replaced the overwritten files with the older files from the other install. z) Would it have not worked out... I would have reinstalled ;) Rick
