Just a little point : In your original post you seemed to think that TheKing is a UCI engine. This is not the case : it's a winboard one. It's own interface is very nice, but if you intend to have it running in another interface (chessbase, ...) you have to use a winboard-to-uci converter. This is a bit tricky because of chessmaster's copy protection scheme. There are many detailed how-to's on this topic on the web. One of the best is on Jason Kent's web site (I have no URL here). Jason has also a nice repository of "personalities" for chessmaster. I hope you will have fun! Marc
