With tabelbases it would be easy to find out how well Taimanov played the ending. I believe it would be very telling about how well he "understood" it. If for instance you entered the ending at a point where you were already past the "Wall" around move 18 then it would not have been that hard. But if you were say around 25 moves to conversion then that's different. Jim Walker
