If we assume that the next Hiarcs is at the same level as Fruit2.2 then this
result certainly can happen.
The difference between Fruit2.2 and Spike is only 100 elo and in a tournament
of only 9 rounds it is not a big difference.
I also think that hiarcs suffered from a bad opening book
I do not know when hiarcs was out of book but Fritz8.ctg includes only 16.Bg3
and the position at that point is already bad for white
It seems that Hiarcs got bad positions also in other games that it lost and book
says nothing of the strength of the engine but only on the strength of the full
package of Hiarcs with it's opening book.
