I have my Windows on a separate hard drive than all my Chess related stuff. You won't even notice the difference between the 10K and 7.2K drive in terms of speed. I used to have something similiar, and they benched pretty close to each other. The usual rule of thumb is to put the smaller hard drive as the main drive, and any bigger one's behind it. Here is my current configuration: Drive 1 (120 gig Maxtor 7200 prm) Partition 1 (12.5 gb) C:\ = Windows D:\ = Programs and what not (76.5 gigs) E:\ = Linux stuff (Currently SuSE 10) (30+gb) Drive 2 (300gb Western Digital Drive) F:\ Chess Programs and 3/4/5+some6 man tablebases Drive 3 (300gb Western Digital Drive) G:\ 6 man tablebases Drive 4 (300gb Western Digital Drive) H:\ 6 man tablebases and an image of the C:\Windows partition for restore Peter
