Subject: L2 Cache Question

Does having 1MB of L2 cache vs. 512KB of L2 cache help a computer chess engine
work "faster"?

Can anyone quantify their response with specific examples?  For example:

Fritzmark with AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800 = xxxx
Fritzmark with AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600 = xxxx
