Hi George,

Sorry, but that's not entirely true.
From time to time (rarely), you will be asked for the CD/DVD when we talk about
the playing programs, unless "you" use a cracked version of course. But this
does not apply to the chessbase (database) programs.
Now, Fritz 9 is the first CB playing program I've experienced asking for the
registration key in order to install. If this has any meaning when it comes to
DVD-checks, we have to wait and see.

The user start-screen has nothing to do with it. But if you sign in as
club-player, you're supposed to get a harder game, than if you sign in as hobby
player... And also the oppotonity is offered for someone else to play in his/her
name.
