We've seen that Fritz 9 has a pretty impressive rating on the CEGT and CSS rating lists. Does that reflect the ability of Fritz 9 to find the best move, or is it simply more effective in demonstrating the weaknesses of its computer opponents (I don't think the two are the same)? What do you think? e.g. if I were to spend a few hours analysing a position using various engines in my latest correspondece game, would I find that Fritz 9's analysis was the most reliable (irrespective of it's ability against other engines)?
