Maybe it is OS specific, but it asks me for the CD each and every time I use a
ChessBase product.  Definitely true for:

Shredder 7 CB
Junior 8 CB
Fritz 8 CB
Hiarcs 9 CB

It's one of the major reasons that I almost never use them.
