the (marketing) lie is in the headline of the topic.

fritz isn't and never was the FIRST human like chess engine in the world.

the first human like chess engines have been

dedicated chess computer:
Mephisto III (Thomas Nitsche + Elmar Henne)
super-constellation (Dave Kittinger)

PC-programs:

Mchess (Marty Hirsch)
Gandalf (Steen Suurballe)
Chess System Tal (Chris Whittington)

Mephisto III was commercial 1983, so fritz is 22 years too late !!
Mchess came on the market very very early in the beginning right after
Rexchess came out for PC's.

Of course the makes of the advertisment of Chessbase KNOW that they lie.
They know it at least from the many times in their life when Fritz was beaten
by Gandalf and other "human-like chess engines".

Fritz is not the FIRST, it is one of the LAST !

Maybe this is meant religious. The last ones will be the first ones :-))

"You think that´s a load of crap?"

Yes i think its a load of crap. And - it is a lie.
