The main question is if they get the right commands from the interface.

Note that I have not fritz7 but
I know that after 256 moves engines may get strange commands from the fritz8 gui
and the strange commands may cause them to force repetition or to lose on time.

first problem is that they do not get correct information about the time that is
left after 256 moves.

second problem after more than 256 moves of both sides is that instead of
getting moves of the opponent they get position and it may cause them to play
stupid repetition instead of winning.

I do not know about specific problems when the game has less than 256 moves but
I cannot promise you that there are not other problems.
