It is an insult to assume that Capablanca, who was twelve or thirteen years old
to the time of that game, could have played 43.a4?? simply leaving the knight en
prise.

It is a mistake either in the original notation, or in the chessbase databases
including the online database, only. Chessgames.com give the game with 42...Re2.
Maybe 2 or 7 is difficult to distuingish in a handwritten notation, but only Re2
makes sense considering the continuation.
