Uri sometimes makes very truthful comments in a very innocent sounding way! And, yes! it seems obvious enough to me!. Well over 10 years ago, when I was struggling with my dedicated chess computers, or some earlier PC programs, I at first was constantly taken aback in shock, at how I got outsmarted just because I missed something which should have been obvious, and lost. I also saw how often I got tricked. But eventually I could beat computers often, if I had the right kind of care and concentration and stamina. That was before Genius 3 came out. Genius 3 was the first time I could hardly do it anymore (Genius 2 was a bit easier for me). And even whenever I DID do it (prior to that), I realized I was only a bit lucky, and/or that I got a bit of a knack how to limit the tactics, which made it easier for me. I still couldn't imagine how GM's would manage, but they were still holding heads high, until Fritz 3 at Blitz and Genius 3 at 30 min per game managed to outsmart Kasparov, on the earliest pentiums of 90 Mhz. But GM's ere still learning how to adapt. But I was sure I could understand the human problems, even for GM's. Now? Gm's still "know" what to do, but cannot usually do it, over the board anymore. This is exactly what _I_ was suffering (at MY level) several years earlier, but no one was admitting that machines could ever do anything. But _I_ was right! All what was needed was to add a few megahertz, and more chess knowledge and computer techniques, and the greatest world champions of all time are in the same boat! S.Taylor
