In the world of hot-rodding, I can tell someone if they have too much carburetor on their V-8 even if I can't beat 'em... And I can be 100% correct when I tell them that... I'd say conventional wisdom goes with Uri here. One can over-extend. And it might well be that Fruit would be even stronger if the extensions were tuned a bit. forward-pruning compensates for over-extending somewhat. But extending too much is just as bad as extending too little...
