In my experience, Fruit seems to be very good at grinding out a win from approx equal positions, especially in the endgame, and its evaluation tends to be accurate even when the opposing engine thinks it has a big advantage. This wouldn't be anything to do with these extensions would it? Although, everybody seems to agree that Fruit is extending too much, is it possible that this is a source of its strength? (Don't ask me, I'm not a programmer - but whatever Fruit is doing, it seems to work!)
