I just purchased the 64x2-3800. It's definitely the "low-end" setup. The
single speed seems about equal to an XP2500-XP2700 machine (hard to tie it down
exactly). It does give the capability GCP mentions about running two singles on
each cpu with ponder on and no problems. I'm happy with it as my first dual
purchase. If you want max speed though you need the 4800 and they are not cheap
compared to the 3800.
