Thanks for help Franz. So these batch files still work in Windows XP? Fruit 2.2.1 trialversion also functions very well as an UCI engine under Chess Partner here. I was thinking of experimenting with some settings; Thorsten has reported very good results against Shredder with Kingsafety 160 in Toga, so why should that not work in Fruit as well! Mikhail Tal would say one of his favorite expressions: "Let's be hooligans for a bit!" I only have the trial version of Fruit 2.2 though, that does not leave me much time to make settings. But now I know what to call them: the Fruitbat settings! Away with the skeptical Fruit! Not very dangerous animals though, those fruitbats, not the fierce bloodthirsty kind. Eelco
