Yes, "sacking" has many meanings, but sacrificing isn't one of them, at least
not in the link you provided, nor in the standard dictionaries. Still, chess is
our game, so if we want to use "sacking" to mean sacrificing as far as chess is
concerned, that's up to us.

PS What are your favourite piece sacs? Cloth or plastic?
