Fritz 9 arrived from ChessUSA today. I must say I'm really impressed.
Naturally I haven't had that much time to test it but so far it seems to me to
be a big improvement over Fritz 8. And I like to GUI too. I normally find
myself playing with the Shredder Classic GUI but Fritz 9 may tempt me away from
my old favorite.
As well as some familiar test positions I also played a few quick games between
Fritz 9 and its old nemesis Junior (9). Fritz won all three - here's game 3 -
take a look at Fritz's nice attack. It certainly seems to be more aggressive
than Fritz 8 and maybe the most aggressive of the top engines. I certainly
recommend it to all those who frequent CCC.
