Mark,

The entire story sounds strange to some of us. And the entire history of the
games is within a 6 hour period. Is is possible that CheckOneDo was pulling your
leg due to some misunderstandings between the two of you when you were doing the
"Tells"?

Was your rating actually dropped or was this just something CheckOneDo said that
he would do (like I said before, I am too much of a chess server neophyte to
check this out for myself).

Note: Mr. Boehm may have been given a slightly distorted version of the events
by CheckOneDo if in fact CheckOneDo was toying with you.

You must realize that messages (such as the one I am sending you now) can be
misinterpreted and people who are normally rational can get annoyed. Possibly
CheckOneDo was bothered by one or more of your Tells.

As Dann said, it would behoove you to go back to that server and play some more.
First off, I doubt that a business would go out of it's way to antagonize you a
second time. Secondly, it would show good faith on your part and you might, in
fact, actually enjoy yourself. Don't let one bad incident force you to not get
your money's worth on that server (like the people who get a posting yanked or a
bad Email from a moderator and turn around and leave or threaten to leave the
group over it; this concept of "they don't play fair, so I'm taking my ball and
going home" leaves a bad taste in your mouth, doesn't it?).

I, for one, am more interested in how they treat you in the future (with regard
to considering whether I would every want to ever join that server) than the
fact that you had a problem in the past. I would think that this is more
important to the rest of the less emotional members of this forum as well. I
think you would do more of a service to this forum if you went back and let us
know if they corrected their customer service so that the rest of us know
whether they are worth the effort or not.

KarinsDad :)

PS. If you do go back (highly recommended), make sure they give you a new
password since everyone now knows it.
