>well the ORIGINAL UNMODIFIED,UN MUTILATED Wunder Machine is a dedicated computer >because it contained only the Fritz 3 Program and could do nothing but play >chess >and of course it was integrated into the Munchen board i think i should clarify this a bit to be considered a dedicated computer the unit must meet TWO criteria 1:the computer does nothing but play a game of chess in its originally released state 2:the computer cannot have the ability to do anything else in its origanlly released state IF the WUNDER Machine were not integrated as one unit then it would NOT be a dedicated chess computer take for example the DGT BOARD this is hooked up to a PC and then the PC drives the chess program and the board no collector considers the DGT-PC a dedicated chess computer because it is really a PC chess program running on a seperate PC with a sensory board attached another example would be a regualar PC with nothing but chess programs installed again not a dedicated chess computer because it has the POTENTIAL ability to do many things not only play a game of chess of course one could somehow modify the PC to only be able to run the chess programs but this then would be a modification of the PC from its original state when released the Wunder Machine was one integrated unit that only played chess and had no potential to do anything else you could not load anything else into it for it would then interfer with the running of the program and the interface with the board IF the Wunder Machine had the potential to run other programs(not only chess programs) then it would not be a dedicated computer and then it would of course be UNCOLLECTABLE Best Steve
