Hmmm. Well, not many of the testers do have the R40, I think. The weak
opposition had the (arithmetic) average strength of 2301 active elo points with
the weakest being Sparc (SSDF Elo 2223).

Yes, a very strange result which shows the difficulty in testing and/or
improving a program. One needs loads of games to get a hint about the result. OR
as I like to say in our company: with statistics you cannot really prove
something.... ;)

Ah, meaningful or not... it's fun, isn't it? I wish I could play more...

Yep, you're certainly one of the most hard working testers. Your R40 match has
been a real pleasure to watch. :) But the others at schachcomputer.info have not
been lazy either:

There are about 250 hours of testing in these results. I don't know who is the
most active tester there but I suppose that since there are only a handful
people doing it, they must have played quite heavily too...

This probably also depends on the availability of dedicated units in Sweden...
:) Maybe 30 minute games are a good compromise? I have already switched to that
time control (in the rare case that I let them play against each other letting
the sarcasm wash over me that I'm too lazy/weak or whatever to play myself...).
;)
