Some people do care when servers treat customers like this. That's the whole point. If I went to a restaurant and recieved really bad food and service, then brought it to the attention of managment and they blow me off, I'm going to tell my friends to avoid the restaurant until I have some reason not to. Why would I want my friends to experience the bad time I had. This is no different. If Chess4You was so concerned about their business they could have employed a little customer service and tact to keep me as a happy customer. All too often services of this kind think that their business is more of a little kingdom and its subcribers are subjects to be ruled over. Subscribers are CUSTOMERS not subjects or peons and if you want to keep and get more customers you had best treat them well. > >You could have made more effort to get this corrected before trying to destroy >their business by casting aspersions at them in public. > What more effort could I have gone to? I had a problem had it resolved only to find out that it wasn't really resolved and that those in charge refused to respond to me. I sent e-mail, internal messages, and tells on-line trying to work this out before I wrote anything here and I have to this day to receive a responce to any of these. The only responce I received was to my post on CCC. It makes no sense to me why a business would act like this if it wants to be profitable. If they had taken the time to e-mail me and work it out between us instead of posting here I would have been happy to post the the good results to let others know that indeed their is some good if belated customer service with this company. >Other people have problems and misunderstandings with people at chess servers, >and either handle it on the server or chalk it up to the extra friction involved >in communicating through a piece of wire. > >It is wrong to try to wreck someone's business like this by trying to put them >on trial in front of hundreds of people over some pissy little incident. I am not trying to wreck their business, more than anything I would like if Chess4You would modify how it handles its customers. I think of it as if I were like a food critic that visited the restaurant I talked about before. Do you think that a food critic is wrong when they write a bad review for a bad restaurant? I have relayed an incident that I think will be helpful to others that are considering trying out Chess4You and if it keeps them from joining so be it, but if they do join they will know what they are potentially getting into. > >bruce
