alternatively the question is if you use the same hash.
I also could produce the same behaviour as Jouni on my A3000 that I have no
access to it at this moment and I remember that finding a mate took a long time.

Another possibility is that you have different tablebases like the KQP vs KP
tablebases that I do not have.

blaming the gui does not make sense.
