I don't know if any of the online scans can also test specific files, instead of complete system check. That would save much time... It may be a false alarm, but better check! I have AVG now for a while on one machine and I am impressed with how professional it seems to be, especially considering it's free. The latest AVG-update reported a problem with my last full system scan while reading the boot-area, but that may be intentional because they have an additional boot area scanner in MS-dos mode. I hope it is not a real problem I found some useful info about several possible anti-virus and anti-spyware tools here in these forums: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/index.php http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/You_Must_Read_This_Before_Posting_A_Hijackthis_Log-t2852.html (http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/Free-Antivirus-Antispyware-Resources-t38.html) There also is a forum somewhere where you could submit a file you think may be infected, but right now can't find the link to that. If necessary I can look it up. You could also post your problem on one of these 'geeks to go'-forums, and just wait for a reply. It can take a few days, they're volunteers but they are thorough!
