Is it not possible to set the tablebase depth in Fritz8 Bilbao? In DeepFritz8 (the one i have) this is adjustable under the engine parameters. Normally this parameter is set to 3, if you put this at 0 Fritz will hit the tablebases 3 ply earlier than before.
