>yes its fun to see results >the most efficient way is not always the BEST way Look at it this way. If you like jogging, it would be strange (to say the least) to measure the largest diameter of the Central Park by running various routes and taking time and speed. Granted, it may be fun (crazy people exist) and you could try to confirm the results afterwards but the appropriate way would for example rather be to take an accurate map and use a ruler… >perhaps even more efficient would be to use any Res modules at all?? > >lets just use two PC's and interpolate from there >:)) >SSDF Regards >Steve Nah, not exactly. Playing against other dedicated units with programs not available for PCs is only possible with the dedicated Res. Same applies to solving mate/tactics problems and the like since changing the time scale with a faster cpu doesn’t give you correct results. So here the most efficient way equals the old fashioned way. However, simply to get most accurate ratings using the same but faster hardware for Ruffian, Fruit et al (Res programs) just shortens the time scale, nothing more. Same amount for both programs! Therefore you get the results quicker and can use the saved time for really pleasurable things like playing Res Deep Sjeng versus your Almeria Turniermaschine - or versus yourself... ;) Pleasured Regards, Martin
