I use Gnome in Fedora Linux 4 in old 32 bit Intel Pentium III 866 Mhz machine.
Usually i use latest stable Sun JDK available. Generally sound works well in all
java applications - limewire, jin, jose, shredder etc. Sometimes some other
program like music player or whatever can block sound device and stop sound in
java app, but closing this "other program" always helps.
