Hello Dieter,

Yace can do this to a pgn file.

"If you have Yace-PB, you can type at the console prompt:

add_eco games.pgn games15.pgn n 30

Which will save 30 plies of the games in games15.pgn. It will also strip all
variations and comments. It will add some opening classification to the PGN
headers. If this is no problem, it might be enough for you.
You can use any name for the files including path, but they must not contain any
spaces.

Regards,
Dieter"

Used with the "permission" of the author of the fabulous engine Yace.
