Hi Chuck,

Absolutely the same opinion here. The originals are of course of higher value
(not only financially) but very hard to get. My V9 is unfortunately only a
Fidelity upgraded one (6114 model) but I think this is the closest I can get to
the V9 or V10 units. (Okay, I've seen Karsten Bauermeister's V10 when visiting
him but that's not the same...) ;)

My V2 is actually my favourite dedicated unit since it's almost in a mint
condition. When I got it, my first thought was "my god, this one hasn't been
used at all!". For a few months I thought about upgrading it to V11 by Mr Bucke
but hesitated to send it. It could get damaged or get some scratches, so I
decided to think about it first. The result? Well, meanwhile I got to the
conclusion that this particular unit should stay as it is, I won't upgrade it
ever. It's extremely pleasurable to blitz against it anyway.

Nonetheless despite Steve's arguments I have no objections against a V11 in
general. The offered one for example would be a very nice add to my
schachcomputer park (and I don't own an Elite A/S yet). However I won't bid on
this one simply due to my streched budget for this year. Maybe on a later
occasion.

On the other hand I've heard rumours from other German collectors that some of
the overclocked V11 had problems even Mr Bucke couldn't solve. Some work
flawlessly but others simply boot or freeze after a few hours of work probably
due to heat problems. This happens not often but it is said that things like
that may happen. Well, just rumours collectors whisper to you only... ;) So no
guarantee about the correctness of the info but I think one should be aware of
this if interested in buying such a unit.

V11 Regards,
Martin
