When I got it the version was 2.2 and I got a free update to 2.2.1. I think for windows users there is a 14 day trial version you can try. I am confident that most people who try it buy it because it is a very very good chess engine. I don't know much about the TB access options but I am sure Fabian or Joachim can answer any questions about that, they are very responsive and helpful.
