What do others think? So by playing Zappa and Fruit, Hydra somehow proves it is the greatest chess entity? What about Shredder, Junior, Fritz, Hiarcs, Ferret, Crafty, and Tiger? They just get left out of the mix? Or it doesn't have to play Kasparov, Kramnik, Topolov, Anand, Svidler... and well.. the rest of the 2700+ club? If this the case and I was Hydra's team, I would take that bet any day. Just to be number #1 on the SSDF an engine must beat _many_ engines over _many_ games to get the required rating. Just because a can beat b, doesn't mean c can beat both a and b. If you throw d,e,f,g,h,and i into the mix, the odds decrease that one will emerge as the "Strongest Chess Entity", but rather just the current strongest player. Peter
