Hi Tony Hedlund! Thanks for all the results you are posting to this Forum. Making computermatches on the classic Tournamenttime (40/2 + 1 hour for the next 20 and so on) is a demanding task. I, myself, used to test for SSDF many years ago at a time where Mach 3, Mega 04 and so on were important computers. Today it is much easier to test with the PC's because you don't have to physically make the moves. The reason I'm writing to you is that I would like to know if SSDF are considering to test on a new Hardware. An AMD Athlon 1200 is ofcourse an excellent PC but compared to up-dated Hardware it is quite slow. In addition, several modern Engines require a modern Hardware to perform their maximum. Recently I had to buy a new CPU (Athlon 64 4000+) because I discovered that Fritz 9 needed more than 256 kb Level 2 Cache (which my old Sempron 2800+ CPU could offer) to perform at its maximum (at least on my timelevel; I'm testing 5+5). So, there are several reasons to make an Hardware-update but there are ofcourse also financial concerns to be taken. Best regards Per Jørgensen
