Jorge, You are correct about the rating differences. I find that Fruit plays stronger at short blitz games because it searches faster. The difference in playing strength becomes minimal when the game length increases. IOW, if you love blitz chess then get Fruit 2.2.1. The games that I have seen between Shredder 8 and Fruit 2.2.1 are mildly exciting. Both of these programs are not wild and reckless. When playing Shredder or Fruit myself I tend to be disemboweled by the thirtieth move.
