However my firewall has it set to ask permission first, and so far it hasn't asked permission insofar as I'm aware. I'm trying to think of a valid reason why it should ever do so...unless perhaps it's part of their security system to prevent piracy?! Or, perhaps this is just the GUI, not the engine itself, because I'm using the Shredder Classic GUI which does have the option to query online automatically for updates. My antivirus software does likewise, so it's not necessarily a bad thing, but it should be announced and explained in advance to the user (not kept secret!). Inquiring minds want to know... WP
