I haven't checked into what can or can't be done by gmail, but I've assumed it would accept about anything. (I don't really use gmail all that much. I just got the address back when they were sending out invites, and after getting 5 of them, I just finally decided to do one.) 1) try renaming the file as .xex or something. 2) just zip it up. Or a .cab or whatever. 3) You can try my regular ISP address that appears at the top of the message. It tends to do over agressive spam filtering, but I have received files there before. If you really want to send a full disk image, go ahead. That's fine. Right off hand, I don't know how many tools there are to create floppy images. I'd have to hunt for some. I used to have quite a few dos based ones, but that's been a while. Personally, I just use WinImage since I already have it to deal with other disk images, but it's not worth downloading just for that reason. A quick google search for 'floppy image' turns up a few. This one says its free, but I haven't tried it. http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/floppyimage.html
