Hi Ryan
I think in the opening you can account for tempo by other rules also.
Center control and mobility should do that I think. The problem with giving less
values is that it will be swamped by other evaluation factors.For example
one more square controled by a bishop is equal to 6 for my case.  I am intending
to give some 30 centipawns in queen pawn endings.
I think in this specific endgame it is worth it. my engine loses many QP
endings.
