Ruud,

Generally if an item is patented it will have the patent number printed
somewhere on the device. If you don't find it there, I would expect they would
have to have at least two patents, one in Europe and one in the US (though I
don't know how that game works).

When I searched the US Patent and Trademark Office database online for patents
containing the text "saitek and mephisto" there were no hits.

When I searched for just "saitek" I got 16 hits as shown at this url:
http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&u=%2Fnetahtml%2Fsearch-adv.htm&r=0&p=1&f=S&l=50&Query=saitek&d=ptxt

There are only a couple that look like they apply, but I didn't have time to go
through them yet. I also think if Saitek has a claim they should serve you a
legal notice identifying the patents in question. Anything less is just
"hogwash".

Regards,

Chuck
