In order to run the WinBoard engines Ruffian101 or Ruffian105 under the Winboard interface, I have a Ruffian directory containing the files: ruffian.bok (the book) ruffian.cfg (the configuration file) ruffian.exe (the program) The configuration file ruffian.cfg is a textfile containing (in my case): RESIGN 32767 KEEP_HASH 1 HASH 128M EGTB_HASH_SIZE 4M LOGFNAME "" BOOK "ruffian.bok" TB_PATH "d:/nalimov5" ...and I need nothing else in order to make it work under the Winboard interface. But if I try to make it work with the ShredderClassic GUI, I don't succeed: if I install Ruffian as Winboard Engine in ShredderClassic, the GUI creates an "engine", Ruffian 1.0.5.eng, which is the following textfile: [ENGINE] Name=Ruffian 1.0.5 Author=Perola Valfridsson Filename=D:\Chess\ShredderChess\Shredder 9 UCI\wb2uci.exe [OPTIONS] LoadEngine=D:\Program Files\Chess\WinBoard\Ruffian\ruffian.exe ShowStats=0 SendToEngine= How do I proceed now ? Do I have to edit this file with the infos of my previous configuration file ? Or create some complementary file ? Should I also replace Shredder's wb2uci.exe (some people say it's old and buggy, just like the one by Chessbase) by the wb2uci.exe made by good Odd Gunnar Malin ?
