At first I thought that Fruit was brain dead for drawing out a drawn position for over 80 moves but then it appeared that Fruit was learning the weaknesses of the old Fritz 5.32 program. I noticed that Fruit was searching about 450 Knps vs Fritz's 1000 Knps but the ply search was generally one ply more for Fruit than Fritz on my old AMD 1500 MHz machine with 512 MB. I suppose that EGTB not being implemented in the old Fritz does weaken it slightly. The games are not brilliant since this is blitz chess at 4 minutes per side and the machine is pre-historic. The old Fritz 5.32 is still an amazingly good program when playing against Fruit 2.2.1 Uncle Buck PS I am sure that the revised Fritz 9 will be awesome. Fabien expects a bloody fight and he is ready to bastinado Frans and his brainchild...on the chessboard.
