Hi,

I think several people said true things in different ways.

I think people are overestimating and/or underestimating the openings books too
much.

I mean that if an engine is stronger it will win regardless of an advantage from
the opening unless the advantage is a winning one.

Opening books are not decisive unless they give losing variations (getting out
of book in a lost position) or winning position (getting out of book in a won
position.

Of course an opening book can help to win a tournament, but the main job is
always made by the engine.

So, to claim a superior opening preparation is a little to exaggerated by me. I
think more realistically it is better to talk about good preparation and some
luck!

This is a general statement and is not referred to any particular program and or
tournament.
