Hi, I think several people said true things in different ways. I think people are overestimating and/or underestimating the openings books too much. I mean that if an engine is stronger it will win regardless of an advantage from the opening unless the advantage is a winning one. Opening books are not decisive unless they give losing variations (getting out of book in a lost position) or winning position (getting out of book in a won position. Of course an opening book can help to win a tournament, but the main job is always made by the engine. So, to claim a superior opening preparation is a little to exaggerated by me. I think more realistically it is better to talk about good preparation and some luck! This is a general statement and is not referred to any particular program and or tournament. Sandro
