With a processing power of 200 million moves a second – more than 200 times an
average home PC and 6 times the processing capability of Deep Blue – Hydra can
be configured for a range of super-computing tasks beyond chess, such as DNA and
finger-print matching, code breaking and space travel calculations.

Hydra’s Managing Director, Syed Basar Shueb said: “We have focused all our
attentions on building the world’s greatest chess computer, a task that has
taken four years and a lot of money. We’re confident that each member of the
Human Team will have trouble landing a blow against our silicon champion.”
Hydra has been upgraded to 64 processor cluster, “we have high hopes and we are
expecting a 4-0 win for Hydra, I know its very optimistic but this optimism
comes after all the experience we had with the development and performance of
Hydra in different tournaments”, said Muhammad Nasir Ali the project director of
Hydra.
